Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), formerly known as Bellary Medical College, is a government-run medical institution established in 1961 in Ballari (formerly Bellary), Karnataka. Affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, VIMS offers undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD/MS) programs in various medical specialties.
The attached teaching hospital, commissioned in 1966, has a bed strength of 680 and provides comprehensive healthcare services. Additionally, the district hospital, located in the heart of the city, spans 15 acres and offers 210 beds dedicated to pediatrics, gynecology, and post-mortem cases
